Bloganuary 7-23: A short story about rain

Hello everyone,

My name is Raindrop. I am 20 years old. That means I have come down to the earth about 600 times already. Each year I will come down to the earth about 30 times. My mom said once I turn 21 years old, I can volunteer or ask The KING of Earth permissions to come down more frequently when I want. I love to touch the ground, visit my tree friends, and sometimes wander with other raindrop to make rain. The trees love me the most. My favorite place is the forest. In there, I have met so many friends. They are so welcomed. Well, majority of trees love rain. Believe it or not, some tree can’t tolerate me. Maybe because I talked too much. I love big trees since they always tell me very interesting stories about humans.

In general, people would like to build things all the time. They invented a lot of new technology with a hope to master the earth.

My mom said tree needs water to grow. So they love rain. I always feel humble and excited at the same time that I can help someone to grow. So far, I feel fortunate to be sent down to beautiful places such as Daffodils field in Litchfield, Connecticut. Probably because of my age, so the King is very kind to me. Unlike my dad, he was sent to California to rescue a wildfire. The fire is so powerful, and he never returned. He sacrificed his life to save some trees. My mom said there is nothing can demonstrate love better when “someone would lay down his life for his friends”. It is an unconditional love.

Out of my 600 times, I have only 1 opportunity to meet Daffodils in the Spring. I love them so much. They said people also called them with a different name: Narcissus. Even though I only met them one time, I understand why they fall in love with their reflection in the lake. It is not exaggerative. I hope that humans can appreciate all the beauty of nature.

Once for a while, I heard my friends and cousin tell stories of places that they have been to. For example, in the North East of America, known as New England, my cousin came down in the shape of snowflakes. Majority of children, especially the ones see snowflakes for the first time ever, they love it and feel like it was a magical thing. But for adults, the majority of them hate us when they have to do some work like shoveling or all the prep-work they have to do to protect the people for driving safely.

My cousin said Daffodils love snow too and they can get along with snow somehow. Every year, Daffodils blooms regardless of how brutal meteorologist predicts. I think human enjoy beautiful scenery a lot. So I hope they understand that we are contributing to the beauty of nature too.

This is the first time I write my thoughts as a raindrop. Hope that it is not too awful. I wish that people would understand what we are doing in this earth. So that they can appreciate us regardless if we come down in the shape of raindrop or snowflake. Everyone has a purpose in life. All things and everyone should appreciate all things happen to each of us.

Best,

Raindrop

Confession: I just said that I was a very bad writer on yesterday’s post. And today the prompt is asking for a story or poem!!! @.@ There is no way that I am able to write a poem. English is my second language. So I hope this autobiography of a Raindrop is not too too bad.
